Biography:

The Bengali pronunciation of Jaya Bhattacharya   is an actress from India who works on television. Her portrayal as Payal in Ekta Kapoor’s soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is one of her most well-known hostile TV serial roles. In addition, she portrayed Sudha Buaa in Gangaa, Sakku Bai in Jhansi Ki Rani, and Jigyasa Bali in Kasamh Se. Her portrayal of Vasundhara Pandey in the drama series Thapki Pyar Ki (2015–2017) helped her reclaim her fame. After making an appearance in Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka (2018–2019), she went on to play Veena Devi in Thapki Pyar Ki 2.

She has little parts in the Bollywood flicks Lajja and Devdas. Her big break came in 2000 when she played Payal Mehra, the primary antagonist in Ekta Kapoor’s smash Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi on StarPlus. At the time, the show broke TRP records and was the highest rated in India. Additionally, she appeared in Banoo Main Teri Dulhan on Zed TV as Gayatri Bua. In the Hindi movie Fiza, which starred Karisma Kapoor in the 2000s, Bhattacharya made a brief appearance. In the movie Jigyaasa, she portrayed a director who wishes to create a documentary about a contentious actress.
