Biography:

Jack Lemmon was an acclaimed American actor, producer, and director, who is one of the greatest performers in the history of American cinema, according to critics and other people in the film industry. Throughout his career, which extended beyond five decades, Lemmon gained acclaim because of his incredible mix of comedy and drama in movies such as Some Like It Hot, The Apartment, Days of Wine and Roses, The Odd Couple, The China Syndrome, Missing, Glengarry Glen Ross, Grumpy Old Men, and The Fortune Cookie. Lemmon won two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor for Mister Roberts (1955) and Best Actor for Save the Tiger (1973). Furthermore, he earned eight Academy Award nominations for Best Actor. In his films, he collaborated with Billy Wilder and worked with his fellow actor, Walter Matthau, to make some of the best comedies in the history of cinema.
