Kiara comes from a mixed heritage background. Her father, Jagdeep Advani, is a businessman, and her mother, Genevieve Jaffrey, is of half British and half Muslim ethnicity. She has a younger brother named Mishaal Advani.
Kiara completed her schooling from Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai. After finishing high school, she went on to pursue a degree in Mass Communication from Jai Hind College, Mumbai, and later enrolled at the University of Mumbai to study law. However, her passion for acting led her to enter the film industry.
In 2014, Kiara made her acting debut in the Hindi film industry with the film “Fugly.” Although the film did not perform well at the box office, her performance was noticed, and she received positive reviews for her acting skills. However, it was her role as Sakshi Dhoni, the wife of Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, in the biographical sports drama “M.S. Following the success of “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story,” Kiara appeared in several films, including “Machine” (2017), “Lust Stories” (2018), and “Kalank” (2019). However, it was her portrayal of Preeti Sikka in the romantic drama “Kabir Singh” (2019) that catapulted her to stardom.
