Emilia Euphemia Isobel The most well-known role of English actress Rose Clarke MBE, who was born on October 23, 1986, is that of Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones (2011–2019), for which she was nominated for four Academy Awards. In addition, she starred in the romance dramas Me Before You (2016) and Last Christmas (2019), and she portrayed Sarah Connor in the science fiction movie Terminator: Genisys (2015) and Qi’ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018).
The Drama Centre London was Clarke’s school. At the age of 22, she made her television debut in 2009 as a guest star in the BBC One medical serial series Doctors. Clarke played Nina in a West End production of The Seagull that was halted because of the COVID-19 lockdowns, and she made her Broadway debut as Holly Golightly in the play Breakfast at Tiffany’s (2013). In the Marvel Cinematic Universe miniseries Secret Invasion (2023), she also portrayed G’iah.
Clarke was born in London on October 23, 1986. Oxfordshire is where she was raised. Peter Roderick “Rick” Clarke, her father, was a Wolverhampton-born theater sound engineer. Her mother, Jennifer Susan “Jenny” Dodd Clarke, MBE, was a businesswoman who, as of 2020, was the director of The Anima Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports Ghanaian youth, and the vice-president for marketing of a multinational management consulting firm. Bennett, her older brother, is employed in the entertainment sector and was a member of the Game of Thrones camera crew.
