Biography:

Dinesh Prabhakar, also known by his birth name Dinesh Nair, is a prominent Indian actor predominantly seen in Malayalam cinema. Born as the second child to Prabhakaran Nair and Sarojini Amma in Pulluvazhi, Perumbavoor, Ernakulam, Kerala, Dinesh exhibited a passion for cinema and media from a young age. This fervor led him to leave his studies at Sree Sankara College during his college years. Fascinated by Hindi language and influenced by Doordarshan serials like “Circus,” “Humraahi,” and “Tamas,” as well as programs like “Chitrahaar” and “Surabhi,” Dinesh relocated to Mumbai in the early 1990s, where his elder sister resided. Initially working as an assistant in a medical shop to sustain himself, he also dedicated himself to learning Hindi.

Dinesh’s stint in Mumbai significantly contributed to his growth in various aspects of the film industry, including acting, dubbing, and casting. Despite his earnest efforts to break into the silver screen during his time in Mumbai, success eluded him initially. However, his breakthrough came with a small role in the 2002 film “Meesa Madhavan,” which paved the way for more substantial roles in mainstream Malayalam cinema. Concurrently, along with his fellow dubbing artist and friend Jis Joy, he ventured into establishing an advertisement agency.

Prabhakar commenced his film journey as a dubbing artist for numerous popular advertisements, lending his voice to Malayalam versions featuring actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan. His involvement in dubbing and advertisement agency operations became his gateway to the film industry, earning him the distinction of being the first casting director in the Malayalam film industry.

Dinesh is happily married to Sreerekha, and they are blessed with a daughter named Vibha Nair, who is currently pursuing her studies.
