David Luther was born to Slovak and Czech parents in Munich. David, a DOP based in London, has a long list of critically acclaimed and extremely profitable television dramas and films under his belt. Both the New York Gold and German TV awards were given to the serial DAS BOOT. Additionally, for his work on DAS BOOT and THE WHITE QUEEN, he was nominated twice by the ASC for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography. He learnt from his father, the renowned Slovak cinematographer Igor Luther, who collaborated on classic films like THE TIN DRUM and DANTON in the 1970s and 1980s with artists like Volker Schlondorff and Andrzej Wajda.
