Bloody Mary

Story:

“Bloody Mary” is a 2022 Indian Telugu-language crime drama film directed by Chandoo Mondeti and written by Prasanth Kumar Dimmala, featuring Nivetha Pethuraj, Brahmaji, Ajay, and Kireeti Damaraju. Set in Visakhapatnam, the storyline revolves around three childhood friends Mary, Raju, and Basha who become entangled in a murder case.

Production commenced in September 2020 in Hyderabad, with music by Kaala Bhairava and cinematography by Karthik Ghattamneni.

The film premiered digitally on April 14, 2022, on the Aha streaming platform. The narrative begins in 1993 when an orphanage in Vizag is raided by human traffickers, leaving three children—Mary, Basha, and Raju—orphans with disabilities. Mary, who witnesses her mother’s murder, struggles to report the crime due to lack of evidence.

Years later, Mary works at a hospital while caring for Basha and Raju, who dream of careers in acting and photography, respectively.

A series of events unfold when Mary and her friends inadvertently become involved in deaths linked to sexual assault. They stumble upon incriminating evidence against a local Circle Inspector, Prabhakar, and a powerful businessman, Sekhar Babu, who also trafficked organs.

Mary orchestrates a complex scheme to expose the criminals, leading to a violent confrontation where she emerges victorious.

The film concludes with Mary, now known as Devi, heading a prominent organization in Mumbai, hinting at her foray into politics and setting the stage for a sequel titled “The Rise of Bloody Devi.”
