Biography:

Baba Bhaskar, an accomplished Indian dance choreographer, director, and actor, has made significant contributions to the world of cinema, particularly in Tamil and Telugu language films. Although he has left his mark in Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada films as well, his primary focus has been on the vibrant film industries of Tamil and Telugu.

Born and raised in Chennai, Baba Bhaskar’s journey into the world of dance began under the guidance of Paulraj, paving the way for a career that would see him evolve into a multifaceted artist. Fueling his passion for dance, Baba Bhaskar took on the role of an assistant to Shiva Shankar Master for several years. This apprenticeship provided him with invaluable insights into the intricacies of dance choreography within the realm of cinema.

Subsequently, he further honed his skills working under the tutelage of the renowned choreographer Raju Sundaram Master, dedicating five years to learning the art and craft of dance in the context of filmmaking. In an interview, Baba Bhaskar Master acknowledged the profound impact that Shiva Shankar Master and Raju Sundaram Master had on shaping his understanding of cinema choreography.

Their guidance enlightened him on the nuances of choreographing songs within the cinematic narrative. Baba Bhaskar’s journey in the film industry commenced as a background dancer, a role he embraced in numerous Tamil and Telugu films. His aspirations to become a successful choreographer materialized with the release of the Telugu film “Kotha Bangaru Lokam” in 2008.

The recognition garnered for his choreography in this film marked a turning point, propelling him into the Tamil film industry as a sought-after choreographer. The breakthrough in Tamil cinema came with the movie “Thiruvilayadal Aarambam,” catapulting Baba Bhaskar into the limelight and earning him widespread acclaim. This pivotal film provided him the opportunity to collaborate with leading actors in the Tamil film industry, including luminaries such as Rajinikanth, Vijay, Ajith Kumar, Suriya, Dhanush, Siddharth, Karthi, Vijay Sethupathi, Prabhu Deva, and Vishal.

Simultaneously, he made significant contributions to the Telugu film industry, working alongside top actors like Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan, Varun Sandesh, and more. Transitioning from a successful choreographer to a director, Baba Bhaskar marked his directorial debut with “Kuppathu Raja,” a film that underwent production from 2017 and saw its release in 2019. In addition to his behind-the-scenes roles, Baba Bhaskar ventured into the realm of reality television.

In 2019, he entered the popular reality show “Bigg Boss Telugu 3” as a contestant, ultimately securing the title of 2nd Runner-up. Baba Bhaskar’s journey continues to be a testament to his artistic versatility and resilience within the dynamic landscape of the Indian film industry.
