Bachimanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam Ravi, widely known as B. V. S. Ravi or Macha Ravi, is an accomplished Indian screenwriter and dialogue writer, primarily active in the Telugu film industry.
Ravi started his career by assisting renowned filmmaker Posani Krishna Murali on various projects, including films like “Sivayya,” “Seetharamaraju,” “Preyasi Raave,” “Snehithulu,” “Ayodhya Raamayya,” and “Badhrachalam.”
He ventured into directing with the film “Wanted” in 2011, featuring Gopichand and Deeksha Seth in the lead roles, accompanied by music composed by Chakri. In 2012, he contributed to the story for the controversially successful film “Denikaina Ready.” Additionally, he collaborated with Puri Jagannath on scripts for films like “Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu,” “Iddarammayilatho,” and “Devudu Chesina Manushulu.”
BVS Ravi expanded his horizons by becoming a producer for the film “Second Hand.” With this project, he showcased his exceptional management and creative abilities, remarkably achieving visual and technical brilliance within a limited budget. Notably, he introduced the concept of single-shot cinematography in the Telugu film industry, making a significant impact.
Furthermore, BVS Ravi has developed close associations with several prominent figures in the Telugu film industry, including Ram Gopal Varma, Puri Jagannath, Krishna Vamsi, Rana Daggubati, Allu Arjun, Ravi Teja, Dil Raju, Mohan Babu, Manchu Vishnu, and Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna. His contributions as a screenwriter and director have left a lasting mark on Telugu cinema.
