Indian film director, screenwriter, distributor, and exhibitor Unnikrishnan B was born on August 14, 1970, and is employed in the Malayalam cinema industry. On August 14, 1970, Unnikrishnan B. was born in Kerala, India’s Pathanamthitta district. His screenplay for Jalamarmaram, directed by T. K. Rajeev Kumar, received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Screenplay in 1999, marking the start of his cinematic career. The movie addressed environmentalism and water politics.
His script Cover Story, which was directed by G. S. Vijayan, was published in 2000. The movie was a box office bust.[2] In 2004, he wrote the screenplay for the thriller Black and White, which was broadcast on Asianet and went on to win two Kerala State Television Awards.
Viji Thampi directed the serial.Antharangal, a telefilm he created and directed in 2004, took home the Kerala State Television Award for Best Telefilm. He wrote, produced, and directed the Amrita TV telefilm Annum Mazhayayirunnu in 2005. The Hindu reported that “The suspense that is maintained throughout the short movie, despite it being set in a domestic, sylvan setting, goes to the credit of the carefully crafted script” . Six Kerala State Television Awards were given to the telefilm, including Best Telefilm and Best Screenplay for Unnikrishnan.
He wrote the screenplays for the successful action flick Shivam (2002), directed by Shaji Kailas, and the thriller The Tiger (2005), which starred Suresh Gopi.[8] In 2006, he directed his first feature film, Smart City, an action movie. Madampi, his second film directed and starring Mohanlal, was a commercial success. In contrast to his earlier works, Madampi was a family play that narrated the tale of a local moneylender.
He wrote the screenplay and oversaw the 2009 action police drama I. G. – Inspector General, which starred Suresh Gopi. The movie discussed topics including politics in communities and terrorism. He wrote and directed the Aviramam piece for the Kerala Cafe anthology film that same year. He wrote the screenplay and directed the box office bomb Pramani (2010), a political comedy that starred Mammootty as a dishonest panchayat president.
He wrote and directed the 2012 crime thriller Grandmaster, which starred Mohanlal as a lone police officer tasked with looking into a crime. It was not only financially successful, but it also presented Mohanlal in a whole new light. In addition to being the first Malayalam movie to be released on Netflix, Grandmaster also the first Malayalam movie to be produced by UTV. I Love Me, a romantic thriller by Sethu that centers on a group of young people, came after it. He wrote and directed the financially unsuccessful heist film Mr. Fraud (2015), starring Mohanlal.
