French actress Anne Parillaud (pronounced [an paʁijo] in French) was born on May 6, 1960, and has been in the business since 1977. She is most known abroad for her role as the title heroine in Luc Besson’s La Femme Nikita. Paris is the birthplace of Parillaud. Although she studied dance in school, she made her cinematic debut at the age of sixteen in Michel Lang’s L’hôtel de la plage (1978).
La Femme Nikita (1990), directed by Luc Besson, featured her Parillaud departed France to star in three foreign films after La Femme Nikita: Frankie Starlight, Innocent Blood, and Map of the Human Heart. Caroline and Eric du Potet directed the French psychological thriller In Their Sleep[4], in which she acted in 2010.
