Amey Wagh, born on November 13, 1987, is a notable Indian Marathi actor recognized for his roles in films like Popat, Faster Fene, Muramba, and Girlfriend. Recently, he portrayed Kushal in season 2 of Sacred Games and Rasool Sheikh in Asur- Welcome to Your Dark Side and Asur 2.
Wagh pursued his education at Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce, Pune, where he actively engaged in play competitions from the outset of his college years. Raised in a joint family of approximately 65 members in Pune, his family background was in the transport business.
A member of the renowned theatre group Natak Company, Wagh once auditioned for the role of Chatur in 3 Idiots (2009), albeit unsuccessfully. His Bollywood debut came in 2012 with the movie Aiyyaa, where he portrayed the character Nana. In the Marathi film arena, he made his debut in Sangeeta Pusalkar’s Aaicha Gondhal (2008). Notable appearances followed in plays such as The Government Inspector (2014) and Bombed (2015), along with his involvement in Marathi TV serials like Dil Dosti Duniyadari and its sequel Dil Dosti Dobara. He also hosted Zee Marathi Awards 2015-Utsav Natyancha Aplya Maitricha alongside Pushkaraj Chirputkar.
In addition to his acting endeavors, Wagh hosted various shows including Super Dancer Maharashtra in 2018 and co-hosted Jio Filmfare Awards Marathi 2018 alongside Suvrat Joshi. He is also known for his work on the YouTube channel Bharatiya Digital Party, where he hosts the celebrity talk show Casting Couch with Amey & Nipun. Ranked 5th in the Times of India-Pune’s Most Desirable Men list in 2018, he continued to make waves with his film Girlfriend, released in July 2019. Additionally, he hosted the food show Mrs. Annapurna (2014) on ETV Marathi and the dance reality show 2 MAD (2017) on Colors Marathi. Wagh was set to appear in the movie Mee Vasantrao, slated for release on May 1, 2020, but it was postponed due to the lockdown in India.
