TheatreAiyyaa is a Hindi-language parody film starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Rani Mukerji in the lead roles. It was written and directed by Sachin Kundalkar and produced by Anurag Kashyap and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. The music was composed by Amit Trivedi, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
The plot centers on Meenakshi, an eccentric woman who becomes infatuated with Surya, a Tamil artist, even though she is engaged to Madhav, who seems perfect for her. Despite her engagement, Meenakshi dreams of marrying Surya.
The trailer for Aiyyaa was released on 12 October 2012, and the film was released worldwide on 12 October 2012. The film received mixed to negative reviews. Although Rani Mukerji’s performance was praised, the weak plot led to a disappointing reception.
