An Indian film editor by the name of Akkineni Sreekar Prasad. He primarily works on Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi films. He has edited more than 600 movies over the course of a more than 35-year career. Nine National Film Awards have been given to him, including a record-setting seven for best editing. Among other awards, he received two Filmfare Awards, two Andhra Pradesh state Nandi Awards, and five Kerala State Film Awards.
He was listed as one of the “People of the Year” in 2013 by the Limca Book of Records for his contributions to Indian film in many languages. In the Limca Book of Records, Prasad also holds the title for “films edited in most number of languages.” So far, he has edited movies in 17 different languages.He is a graduate from University of Madras in literature. His father taught him the craft of Telugu movie editing. Though he began with Telugu movies, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi movies propelled him to widespread popularity.
Sreekar Prasad, the brother of Telugu film legend L. V. Prasad, was born to film editor Akkineni Sanjeevi into a Telugu-speaking family.Pizza’s director, Akshay Akkineni, is his son. The actresses R. Parthiban and Seetha’s daughter, P. S. Keerthana, is married to actor Akshay. The film Kannathil Muthamittal, in which Keerthana starred and for which Sreekar served as editor, won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist in 2002.
