Indian film director, screenwriter, editor, and cinematographer Mahesh Narayanan was born on May 2, 1982. He specializes in Malayalam cinema, but he has also worked on Tamil and Hindi films. Both the Kerala State Film Award for Best Director (2022) and the Kerala State Film Award for Best Debut Director (2017) have been given to him. His editing work on Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam and Vishwaroopam II is what made him most famous. Take Off (2017), C U Soon (2020), Malik (2021), and Ariyippu (2022) are some of his best films as a director.
He began working as an advertisement editor at M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute in Tamil Nadu after graduating from University College Thiruvananthapuram. After that, he moved on to editing short films and documentaries before breaking into the motion picture business with Rathri Mazha, a Malayalam feature that took home five Kerala State feature Awards.
As an editor, some of his most well-known films are Ennu Ninte Moideen, Kanyaka Talkies, Beautiful, Traffic, and Viswaroopam. After proving himself as a skilled and prosperous editor, Mahesh decided to pursue a career in writing. His 2015 Malayalam film Mili received overwhelmingly positive reviews when it debuted in Kerala.
