Sridevi, also known as Sridevi Kapoor, was an iconic Indian actress who left an indelible mark on the Indian film industry. Born on August 13, 1963, in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, India, Sridevi began her acting career at a very young age and went on to become one of the most beloved and successful actresses of her time.

Sridevi made her acting debut as a child artist in the Tamil film “Kandan Karunai” (1967) and subsequently appeared in several Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films during her early years. Her breakthrough as a lead actress came with the Tamil film “Moondru Mudichu” (1976), directed by K. Balachander. The film’s success propelled her into the limelight and opened doors for her in the Hindi film industry.

In 1978, Sridevi made her Hindi film debut with the film “Solva Sawan,” but it was her role in the film “Himmatwala” (1983) opposite Jeetendra that established her as a leading lady in Bollywood.
