Plot
Anand Verma, a father of a child and widower, brings a memory-impaired woman into the hospital. The doctor asks him to look after her while she recovers from amnesia because he admitted her. The doctor gives her the name Asha—the name of Anand’s late wife—and convinces her that she is Anand’s wife with a child.
Anand has no choice but to accept the situation and brings her to his home. Asha is adamant that she cannot recall any incidents pertaining to her life with Anand. The doctor tells her a fib about having a birthmark in a place of her body that only her husband knows about in order to get her to believe it.
He also arranges a picture of her with Anand’s wedding picture. Even though Asha maintains that she is memoryless, she thinks Anand is her husband and that she is the mother of his kid.
She moves in with Anand as his wife, which greatly disturbs him because he knows she is not his wife. She also shows the infant a lot of love and becomes devoted to it. However, she finds out that nothing that has been said to her is accurate, and she is neither Anand’s wife nor the child’s mother.
She refuses to leave Anand’s residence, saying she wants to spend her entire life with him and his child. Everyone persuades Anand, who at last consents to marry her. However, Asha harbors an unidentified anxiety that something would end their union.
Everyone is confused when Asha mistakenly perceives someone as the groom on the wedding day. Asha is reminded of something by a song sung by the husband. In reality, she is Anita, and Ajay, her lover, is the groom. Anita went from the mountain, survived with injuries, and lost her memory as they were ready to get married because goons interrupted them.
Anand discovers Ajay once her memory returns, brings him to Anita, and demands that they get married because they are both in love. Reluctantly, Anita agrees. But Anita stops Ajay from tying the Mangal Sutra.
She approaches Anand and tells him that although she may not need him, she does need the child. Ajay exits, seeing that she has been overpowered by motherly affection. At last, Anand and Anita tie the knot.
