Shruti Haasan is an Indian actress and singer who appears in Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil movies. She was born on January 28, 1986. She has won three South Indian International Movie Awards and two Filmfare Award South. In both 2015 and 2016, she was included in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list.
Before making her acting debut in the Hindi film Luck (2009), she made her film singing and guest acting debuts as a young artist. She was born to actor-director Kamal Haasan and actress Sarika Thakur. She made her acting debuts in Tamil with 7aum Arivu (2011) and Telugu with Anaganaga O Dheerudu (2011), both of which earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. With the Telugu flicks Oh My Friend (2011), Gabbar Singh (2012), Balupu (2013), Yevadu, Race Gurram both (2014), Srimanthudu (2015), Premam (2016), and Krack (2021), Haasan made her name in South Indian cinema. She was honored with the Filmfare Award for Telugu’s Best Actress for Race Gurram.
Additionally, Haasan has portrayed the lead female role in the Hindi films Gabbar Is Back and Welcome Back (both 2015) as well as the Tamil films Vedalam (2015) and Si3 (2017). She was nominated for the IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in D-Day (2013). Waltair Veerayya (2023) was her highest-grossing release.
Haasan has a successful playback singing career in addition to her acting career, and she also fronts her own music group. She is a well-known celebrity who promotes companies and goods.
