Biography:

Ramakrishnan, who goes by the stage name Ramki, is a renowned Indian actor primarily recognized for his contributions to Tamil cinema. His acting journey commenced with his debut in “Chinna Poove Mella Pesu” in 1987, and he held the position of a leading actor from 1987 to 2004.

Ramki gained acclaim for his memorable performances in several successful films, including “Senthoora Poove” (1988), “Maruthu Pandi” (1990), “Inaindha Kaigal” (1990), “Athma” (1993), “Karuppu Roja” (1996), and “RX 100” (2018).

After a hiatus of nine years, he made a comeback to the world of cinema, but this time in a supporting role, in the supernatural thriller “Masani” (2013).

Ramki began his acting career in 1987 with “Chinna Poove Mella Pesu,” co-starring Prabhu, which turned out to be a commercial success. In 1988, he appeared in eight films, including “Senthoora Poove,” alongside Vijayakanth and his future wife Nirosha, which ran for over 200 days and was a major Tamil film hit.

He continued to feature in successful films throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, such as “Inaindha Kaigal” and “Maruthu Pandi.” In the 1990s, he was known for his onscreen chemistry with Nirosha, Khushbu, and Urvashi.

After a hiatus, he made a comeback in 2013 with movies like “Maasani” and “Biriyani,” followed by appearances in Telugu and Tamil films, including “RX 100” in 2018, where he won acclaim for Best Character Actor. Ramki also featured in Sundar C.’s “Action” in 2019 alongside Vishal.
