Biography:

Premgi Amaren is an Indian artist who does a bit of everything – he’s an actor, comedian, composer, singer, and rapper. Born on February 26, 1979, he’s been active in the entertainment industry since 2006. He’s famously known for his entertaining performances in movies and his work in music.

He started his career aiming to direct films but ended up helping his cousin, Yuvan Shankar Raja, a music composer. This kickstarted his journey as a playback singer. Later, he ventured into acting and made his debut in the movie “Vallavan” in 2006. His role in “Chennai 600028” made him popular for his comedy acting.

Premgi’s music journey began in 2005 when he started composing independently. He’s not just limited to film music; he’s also composed for TV shows. He worked on a special song dedicated to Michael Jackson with singer Suresh Peters.

Coming from a family connected to the entertainment world, Premgi’s dad is Gangai Amaran, a respected director and musician. His brother is Venkat Prabhu, who’s also a director. And, interestingly, his uncle is the famous film composer, Ilaiyaraaja.

In his acting career, Premgi has appeared in various films like “Goa,” “Mankatha,” and “Settai.” He’s a versatile artist, always exploring different roles in movies and adding his unique touch to music.
