Nikitin Dheer

Biography:

Nikitin Dheer is an Indian actor known for his work in Hindi and Telugu films as well as television. He gained recognition as a contestant on Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 5.

Dheer made his acting debut in 2008 in Ashutosh Gowariker’s historical drama Jodhaa Akbar, where he played the role of Sharifuddin Hussain, Akbar’s brother-in-law, alongside Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The film was both critically acclaimed and a box office success, and Dheer received praise for his performance. Taran Adarsh, a noted film critic, described his work as “fantastic.” In the same year, he appeared in Apoorva Lakhia’s action thriller Mission Istaanbul alongside Vivek Oberoi, Shriya Saran, and Zayed Khan, which didn’t leave a significant mark.

In 2011, Dheer was part of Anees Bazmee’s comedy Ready, where he acted alongside Salman Khan and Asin. The following year, he played a supporting role in Arbaaz Khan’s action film Dabangg 2, starring Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, and Prakash Raj. In 2013, he took on the role of the main antagonist in Rohit Shetty’s action comedy Chennai Express, sharing the screen with Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. To portray the character of Tangaballi, a fearsome Tamil gangster, Dheer underwent physical training and worked on his accent. Although his physique in the film was appreciated, some critics noted that his role didn’t offer much scope for performance.

Nikitin Dheer, who hails from a Punjabi background, is the son of actor Pankaj Dheer. He entered into an arranged marriage with Kratika Sengar on 3 September 2014, and the couple has a daughter.
