Biography:

Mansoor Ali Khan is a multifaceted Indian personality, known for his contributions as an actor, music composer, writer, and producer in the Tamil film industry. His career has predominantly focused on Tamil cinema, where he has often portrayed antagonistic and supporting roles. One of his pivotal breakthroughs came with the 1991 film “Captain Prabhakaran,” where he excelled as an antagonist, leading to numerous acting opportunities. Over the years, he has participated in over 250 films across various languages and has also ventured into producing and directing movies. His influence extends beyond Tamil cinema, as he has also worked in Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada films.

Mansoor Ali Khan’s journey started in Dindigal, Tamil Nadu, where he was born to Meesaikaara Abdul Salam Rowther and Sagorammal. He honed his acting skills by undergoing training at Anupam Kher’s acting school in Mumbai. In addition to his prolific career in the entertainment industry, Mansoor Ali Khan has dabbled in politics, aligning himself with different parties during his political journey. He contested in various general elections, including the 1999 election from Periyakulam and the 2019 election from Dindigul. His political affiliations shifted over time, leading to the formation of his own political party, ‘Tamil Desiya Puligal.’

Apart from his professional accomplishments, Mansoor Ali Khan has encountered legal issues during his life. These issues include an arrest in 1998 for protesting against pirate showings of his film, a conviction on a rape charge in 2001 followed by vindication by the Madras High Court in 2012, an arrest related to land grabbing in 2012, and another arrest in 2018 for participating in protests against a proposed superhighway. In 2021, he was also arrested for spreading rumors about Covid vaccination and fined.
