Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer Jeethu Joseph was born on November 10, 1972, and he primarily works in Malayalam cinema. In addition, he has a few Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema credits. The 2007 police drama Detective marked Jeethu’s directorial debut. His most famous creation is the Drishyam series.
At the time of its release, Drishyam was the highest-grossing Malayalam movie ever. At the box office, it was the first Malayalam movie to surpass the ₹50 crore threshold. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Drishyam 2 was released immediately through Amazon Prime Video. Similar to the precursor, it received much praise and recognition.
Mummy & Me (2010), My Boss (2012), Memories (2013), Life of Josutty (2015), Oozham (2016), Aadhi (2018), and Neru (2023) are some of his other works. In addition to his 2013 feature Drishyam, Jeethu made his Tamil debut with Papanasam (2015), his Hindi debut with The Body (2019), and his Telugu debut with Drushyam 2 (2021).
In Mutholapuram, Muvattupuzha taluk, Jeethu was born into a Syro-Malabar Catholic household to Leelamma and V. Joseph, an ex-MLA from Muvattupuzha. While his father preferred that Jeethu pursue an engineering degree, Jeethu had an interest in attending the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Following his time at Fathima Matha English Medium School, he went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in economics from Nirmala College in Muvattupuzha.
