Story:

Arun Ravichandran is the writer and director of the 2025 Tamil-language romantic comedy Mr. Housekeeping, which stars Losliya Mariyanesan and Hari Bhaskar in the key roles and Ilavarasu, Shah Ra, Rayan, and other actors in supporting parts. On January 24, 2025, Mr. Housekeeping was released in theaters.

The chauvinistic Honest Raj “Honest” and Isai broke up on their final day of college in 2019. Isai was proven wrong when Honest challenged him to win a girl’s heart and build a prosperous life. Honest is still unemployed and a failure in love four years later. Unaware that the property is owned by his ex-lover, Isai, Honest gets a job as a cleaner in order to earn Rs. 5,000 to pay off a sextortion threater. Through her maid, Jothi, Isai assesses Honest’s housekeeping abilities; despite his failure, she hires him as her housekeeper.

Honest lies to his family by saying he got a job at an IT company, but he takes the advance payment to pay off the sextortion debt. When Honest accidentally attends Isai’s formal meeting, he becomes embarrassed, so Isai humiliates him in front of their college friends by exposing his real job as her housekeeper. Isai smacks Honest as well, but she quickly realizes that his actions were inadvertent and feels bad about it.

To meet Priya, his future bride, Honest and his family set off on a journey. But close to Isai’s villa, their autorickshaw breaks down after running out of fuel. They are given a ride to Priya’s residence by Isai. Sincere people like Priya and Isai relieve him of his housekeeping responsibilities so he can get a better career. But until his marriage is formally recognized, Honest keeps working as Isai’s housekeeper. As Isai becomes closer to Honest and his family, she learns that during her final semester in college, when her parents were overseas, Honest covertly gave her meals.

Isai, who is moved by Honest’s concern, agrees to be his closest friend and confesses that she will fall in love, but Honest takes this as a romantic admission. As a result, Isai begins dating her coworker Harish and gradually falls in love with him, while Honest calls off his engagement to Priya. Under Roman’s guidance, Honest acts like the epitome of a gentleman, giving Isai the impression that he views her as merely a friend.

After training Honest, Isai gets him a position at her business. Her increasing intimacy with Honest, nevertheless, annoys Harish. Isai is advised to keep her distance from Honest by Harish, who fears that he may get possessive and ask her to marry him. Honest believes that Harish and Isai are merely friends. Isai invites Honest to her house a few days later, giving him the impression that she is at last prepared to accept him romantically. Honest is astonished to learn that Isai has just friendzoned him at her house. Devastated, Honest tries to dive into the sea, but Roman saves him. From the following day, Honest is committed to gaining Isai’s affection.

Nevertheless, Harish and his pals oppose his attempts and physically abuse him. With the assistance of his gang, Honest retaliates, and the two groups engage in a violent altercation. Isai steps in at the police station and tells Honest to back off, but she declines to lodge a case against him, claiming sympathy. After speaking with his sister, Sangeetha, Honest’s parents start to worry about him and he comes to the realization that he ought to have respected Isai’s boundaries and refrained from pursuing her in spite of her rejection. He starts to turn away from Isai.

An fight breaks out between Isai and Deepthi as Isai learns that Harish has been concealing their cohabitation. Isai starts to see that she had miscalculated Honest’s motivations and overlooked his sincere affection. While Isai’s father counsels her to accept things as they are, Honest’s father, Chokkalingam, pushes his son to move on. While Isai splits from Harish because of their disagreements, Honest works to eventually make his mother, Kalyani, smile.

Isai makes the decision to tell Honest she loves him, but she chooses not to stop him when she learns he is heading to Singapore shortly. After six months, Honest and his pals are operating a housekeeping business in Chennai. They eventually get together after Isai decides to take a risk on Honest and pops the question.
