When the movie debuted on November 26, 2005, it was highly-liked by youthful, urban viewers as well as south Indian students studying in the United States, primarily from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, India. At the box office, the movie brought in ₹ 5.3 crore. Vennela Kishore’s Vennela 1½ (2012) is the film’s sequel.
Pavani is a self-reliant woman who wishes to study further in the United States. She has been in a devoted relationship with her classmate and millionaire’s son, Ritesh (Sharvanand). In college, Ritesh was a popular and brilliant guy. With his college friend Sayeed (Ravi Varma), who had a covert interest in Pavani as well, he inspires animosity, jealously, and hate. Ritesh is introduced to drinking, smoking, and college politics by Sayeed. Pavani feels disappointed because Ritesh becomes absorbed in those activities. She tries, but is unable, to hold him accountable. After she makes multiple attempts to end their relationship, he persuades her to reconsider. She ultimately makes the decision to end their relationship, and in order to avoid him, she relocates to the US.
Pavani meets Naveen and his pals, who also happen to be accepted into the same college as hers, as she is celebrating her impending trip to the United States with her friends. Among Naveen’s acquaintances is Pachadlla Paramanandam, the proprietor of an Indian restaurant. They experience culture shock, difficulties finding a part-time work, and studying in the US. Sayeed, a fellow student at the same university, knows that Pavani and Ritesh don’t get along well.
