Tourist Family

Story:

In his first directing role, Abishan Jeevinth wrote and directed the 2025 Tamil-language comedy drama Tourist Family. The film, which was co-produced by Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment, features Yogi Babu, M. S. Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel, Sreeja Ravi, and M. Sasikumar, Simran, Mithun Jai Sankar, and Kamalesh in the key parts. The story follows a Tamil family from Sri Lanka on their perilous quest for safety and a better future, set against the backdrop of economic difficulties in the country following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The film, which is the fifth project for Million Dollar Studios, was formally announced in September 2024 under the provisional title Production No. 5. The official title was revealed in December of the same year. A single 35-day schedule was used for principal photography, which concluded in early January 2025. Aravind Viswanathan handled the film’s cinematography, Barath Vikraman edited it, and Sean Roldan composed the soundtrack.

Tourist Family received favorable reviews from critics when it debuted on April 29, 2025, and went on sale on May 1.After the 2019–24 economic crisis in Sri Lanka, a Tamil Dharmadas from his hometown of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, departs the country with his family to India. The remainder of the story is shaped by what happens after arriving in India.
