TheatreIn 2007, Nithiin and Sadha took hearts captive in the Telugu romantic drama “Takkari”. A remake of the Tamil hit “Thiruvilaiyaadal Aarambam”, the film crossed language barriers with dubbings in Malayalam (“Gambler”) and even Hindi (“Meri Ladai”). Directed by Amma Rajashekhar, “Takkari” delivered a potent blend of love, ambition, and a hint of intrigue.
Tirupathi, portrayed by Nithiin, aspires to become a realtor against the wishes of his unsupportive father, played by Chandra Mohan. Despite the familial opposition, Tirupathi wins the affection of Priya (Sadha), a wealthy girl and the sister of the antagonist Guru (Sayaji Shinde), a menacing business tycoon.
Tirupathi achieves his real estate ambitions and faces a dilemma when Guru insists he break ties with Priya. In response, Tirupathi demands money, leading Guru to provide a cheque from a questionable bank.
Seizing an opportunity, Tirupathi blackmails Priya’s brother with compromising photos, securing the funds.
The narrative takes a turn as the villain attempts an IT raid on Tirupathi’s enterprises, only to have the plan backfire. Undeterred, Guru endeavors to arrange Priya’s marriage to someone else, but Tirupathi intervenes, marrying her instead.
The climax unfolds with Tirupathi returning all the money acquired from Guru, who eventually accepts the union.
The story concludes on a reconciliatory note, marking the triumph of love and determination over adversities.
