Vaani waits for Mahesh and his family at the court for their planned marriage alongside her parents and younger brother. But over the phone, Vaani finds out that Mahesh has left her for the daughter of a well-known businessman, putting his professional goals ahead of his romantic feelings. Vaani is devastated; she faints and sinks into a profound despair, spending months alone in her room and losing touch with her love of writing.
Young and gifted, Krish Kapoor is attempting to make a name for himself in the music business. He is violent, emotionally unstable, and utilizes music as a coping mechanism for his early trauma. Krish is kept together by his friend KV, who uses funds intended for his schooling to support the band after an uncomfortable run-in with a journalist and a disagreement with a band member who claimed credit for his efforts. Vaani, who is looking for work as a writer and anchor at a publishing business, shares her own poems with Krish one day. Her writing’s profundity and unadulterated simplicity instantly captivate him.
Vaani agrees to work with Krish on a song for a production company, despite her initial reluctance because of his unpredictable conduct and the intimidating atmosphere of the music studio. When Krish finds ripped pages in her notepad during a creative block, she understands she is carrying her own personal burden. Krish brings Vaani to a cricket ground, where he frequently finds calm, to help her relax. Vaani starts writing once more, motivated by his enthusiasm and concentration.
Spending more time together in the studio, riding Krish’s bike, and going to social events strengthens their partnership. While Krish finds equilibrium and clarity in her company, Vaani gradually regains her self-assurance. Krish lets out his pent-up rage on his father, accusing him of being responsible for his mother’s death from drinking, after witnessing his inebriated father being taken home by the police and publicly humiliated. He flees to the cricket stadium, where Vaani soothes him and follows. She says that Krish has helped her get better and that she can now write freely. She helps him enroll his father in a rehabilitation facility in exchange. They become even closer emotionally. After their job is finished, Krish informs Vaani that her life would be better without him and drops her off at home. But when they cross paths again at a performance and discover they have affections for each other, fate steps in.
When Vaani’s parents see Krish dropping her off one day, they start to worry. Her mother is afraid that Krish will leave Vaani the way Mahesh did. Stress overwhelms Vaani, who passes out and is admitted to the hospital. Her mother is dubious but asks Krish if he really plans to remain after her father lets him visit. If he truly loves Vaani, she advises him to wed her. When Krish concurs, Vaani’s faith in his love is reinforced, and their bond is strengthened.
As Krish prepares to depart for a concert, Vaani’s diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer’s causes a significant upheaval in their life, as evidence of memory loss becomes evident. She unexpectedly runs into Mahesh at a function, which causes her condition to cause a public outburst. Using Vaani’s phone, a stranger calls Krish to tell him about her abandoned possessions and distraught condition. He sees her at the same cricket ground, trying to play, after he cancels his flight. Vaani says she is afraid she and Krish will be forgotten. If she forgets the old memories, he promises her that he will always be there to create new ones. After being reunited through love, music, and recollections, the movie concludes with Krish playing at Wembley Stadium with Vaani at his side as they are married.
