Plot
Dr. Aryan Kulshreshtha is an ASI archaeologist who firmly believes in the veracity of scientific findings. He rejects the existence of God. Along with a multinational team from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Japan.
He has already found the treasure of Raja Dahir and a massive statue of a reclining Buddha near the Buddhas of Bamyan in Afghanistan, both of which were destroyed by the Taliban (Dahir’s treasure was later split between India and Pakistan in Islamabad).
Aryan is ordered to write a report for the Supreme Court of India in 2007 that demonstrates the bridge’s natural creation in an attempt by the government to destroy the Ram Setu in order to create a canal. Since he hasn’t personally researched the bridge, he first declines the offer.
However, after being assured of a promotion, he writes a report challenging Rama’s existence and asserting that “Ramayana is an epic fiction, not history.” His spouse, Professor Gayatri, is adamant that he decline the offer.
As thus, he encounters total animosity. The public is incensed and the government is embarrassed by the report, which is presented in court as an affidavit and casts doubt on Rama’s existence.
As a result of the fallout, Aryan receives a temporary suspension. And as a result of the animosity, Aryan’s son began to be bullied at school, and Aryan saw the bully’s parents’ animosity firsthand.
A wealthy businessman named Indrakant makes an offer to Aryan in the meantime. He wants to demolish Rama Setu in order to save fuel and money for a maritime project, and he feels that because of Ram Setu, his ships must travel a great distance.
He makes an attempt to convince an Aryan to participate in an archeological dig and study for the Rama Setu. He rejects it out of concern for increased public animosity, but then resolves to establish the “truth” after recalling the event with his son.
Thus, Aryan agrees to the task and meets the project manager Bali as well as the scientists he will be working with, Drs. Sandra Rebello and Gabrielle.
According to Pushkar Bhatnagar in Dating The Era of Lord Ram, Rama himself was born more than 7,000 years ago, but initial study indicates that Rama Setu is eighteen thousand years old.
Aryan decides that this is insufficient and brings another floating rock from the Rama Setu, determining its age using carbon dating. Additionally, he explores the deep ocean and discovers the coral reefs.
This begins to demonstrate that Rama Setu was most likely constructed by Rama himself and that it was man-made about 7000 years ago. He informs Indrakant of this, and the latter values Aryan’s objectivity toward the assignment.
To destroy the building and save money and fuel for their project, Indrakant, however, merely needs evidence that Rama Setu is older than Rama and was not the one who built it.
He chooses to execute the three of them. Dr. Gabrielle, Dr. Sandra Rebello, and Aryan go underwater on a second mission to remove more rocks from Rama Setu.
Their submarine suddenly breaks down, trapping them in while their oxygen supply is limited and they make frantic attempts to get out.
A guy named Anjaneyan Pushpakumaran ‘AP’, who is on a boat, saves them in mid-ocean after Dr. Gabrille plays shrewd and takes the floating stone with them, probably because she suspected Bali.
After saving them, he transports them to a secluded island in Sri Lanka where a civil war is raging at the moment. He consents to support the trio in their endeavors.
He promises to assist them, but only if it benefits him financially. When Bali discovers the stone is stolen, he decides to pursue them; however, AP assists them in crossing the borders, and during the pursuit, the stone vanishes.
After AP gets assistance from the local police, a helicopter is used to rescue them. The three of them make it onto the helicopter, but as Gabrielle chances to be standing near the door, Bali shoots her, causing her to fall to her death.
Aryan, Sandra, and AP plan to do cross-border study in Sri Lanka to demonstrate the existence of Rama and Ram Setu. This will be significant evidence that Ram Setu was constructed by Rama rather than existing naturally.
AP gets lost during an attempt to flee and is thought to have died. Aryan’s attempts to discover the true identity of AP are unsuccessful.
Aryan continues with everyone’s assistance, managing to halt the construction of the canal and demonstrating in court that the Rama Setu was in fact man-made and that the Ramayana is authentic (by discovering archaeological evidence of Lanka in Ashok Vatika, Seetha Amman Temple, Ella, and Sri Pada in Sri Lanka), suggesting that Rama may have existed.
Later, Aryan discovers a diary with the words “Jai Shri Ram” written in it while searching his leftover bag for additional information about AP. He gradually realizes that AP is not a regular person but rather Lord Hanuman
In disguise after analyzing what AP stated and consulting the diary. This suggests that AP is actually immortal and that he staged his death so that Aryan would gather proof of Ram Setu’s existence without disclosing his own identity.
