In honor of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 65th birthday, the producers of NBK111 unveiled a preview titled “Entry of an Era” on Wednesday. Since its publication, the video, which offers the first in-depth look at the setting of the movie and Balakrishna’s character, has received favorable reviews on the internet. The movie’s title has not yet been disclosed. The team had been teasing the tagline, “No more vintage, only new age,” for weeks prior to the birthday release. The creators had previously published a poster that had sparked discussion on the internet. It showed a big sword against a gloomy, rain-soaked background with silhouettes reflected in the blade, blazing smoke, and gunshot imagery.

Based on that visual language, the glimpse revealed Balakrishna in a look that clearly deviates from his prior mass-hero performances, veering toward a contemporary, high-stakes style. Arvind S. Kashyap, who is well-known for his work on the Kantara franchise, is handling the film’s cinematography. Speaking prior to the release, music director S Thaman said that viewers would be astounded by the presentation and that Kashyap’s work in the peek was exceptional.

The historical action drama NBK111 is divided into two timelines: the ancient past and the present. After finishing his previous Hindi film, Jaat, director Gopichand Malineni started working on the script. Under the Vriddhi Cinemas name, Venkata Satish Kilaru is producing the project, which is a pan-Indian film with a significant post-production visual effects component. Samuthirakani and Manoj Manchu, who revealed his casting in May 2026, play supporting roles while Nayanthara plays the lead. The background score and music are being composed by S Thaman.

Balakrishna and Gopichand Malineni are working together for the second time. Veera Simha Reddy (2023), their debut film, made over Rs 134 crore globally. NBK111 is positioned as a larger, more ambitious project. Filming for the movie is now in progress, and a significant portion of the schedule was just completed in Hyderabad. Although the producers have not yet finalized an official date, the movie is expected to be released on November 20/2026.
