Story:

Mrs.Chatterjee vs Norway is a legal drama movie in Hindi, released in 2023. Ashima Chibber serves as both the writer and director for this film. The narrative draws inspiration from the true account of an Indian couple whose children were separated from them by Norwegian officials in 2011. Plot

The movie depicts the story of Debika, residing in Stavanger alongside her spouse Aniruddha, their son Shubha, and their five-month-old daughter Shuchi. Their routine includes visits from two employees of the Norwegian Child Welfare Services. Unfortunately, during the final visit, the employees decide to take custody of Shubha and Shuchi. Informed of their alleged unsuitability as guardians, the Chatterjee family is left with no choice but to resort to legal action. Determined to regain custody of her children, Debika opts to take on the government through a lawsuit.

Within the first week, it achieved an impressive milestone by grossing $1 million at the global box office. The following day witnessed a remarkable surge of 77.95% in collections, amounting to ₹4.55 crore. By the third day, the film’s earnings had risen to ₹4.91 crore, resulting in a cumulative weekend collection of ₹12.68 crore. As of April 20, 2023, the film’s worldwide gross stands at ₹36.53 crore. Notably, over the weekend, it raked in 745K Norwegian Krones, propelling it to the position of being the highest-grossing Bollywood film in Norway. Subsequently, it achieved another feat by becoming the most-watched South Asian film in Norway, amassing a total of 8356 admissions.
