Story:

“Kanjoos Makhichoos” is a Hindi-language comedy film from India directed by Vipul Mehta and jointly produced by Soham Rockstar Entertainment and ThunderSky Entertainment. The movie is an adaptation of the well-known Gujarati play “Sajan Re Jhooth Mat Bolo.” Its ensemble cast includes Kunal Khemu, Shweta Tripathi, Piyush Mishra, Alka Amin, Rajeev Gupta, and Raju Srivastava. This film made its debut on ZEE5 on March 24, 2023, and notably marks the final movie appearance of the comedian Raju Srivastav.

Plot

Taking place in Lucknow, “Kanjoos Makhichoos” is a dark comedy centered around Jamnaprasad Pandey, a miserly individual who scrimps and saves money to send his parents on a pilgrimage. Unfortunately, destiny takes an unexpected turn when his parents are tragically lost in a flood. Jamuna Prasad Pandey is left in deep distress when he discovers that, due to intermediaries and widespread corruption, he will only receive half of the government’s promised compensation. The remainder of the narrative unfolds with a series of comical twists and turns as he battles against the corrupt system in pursuit of his rightful compensation..
