Darbar is a Tamil movie released in 2020.
New Commissioner Aditya tackles Mumbai’s drug and prostitution crisis. Exploiting the rescue of high-ranking women, he spearheads a campaign, netting arrests and sparking a major crackdown.
Ajay, son of influential Vinod Malhotra, lands in jail. Despite bail attempts, Aditya refuses. Seeking Ajay’s testimony, he finds a shocking proxy in his place. Uncovering corrupt officials working for Vinod, Aditya launches a covert investigation, leading to Ajay’s arrest in Bangkok on passport fraud charges.
Corrupt officials, bought by Vinod, free Ajay from Thai custody with a fabricated report. Back in India, Aditya eliminates the imposter and publicly displays the body as a warning. Vinod’s cornered allies betray him, arranging Ajay’s secret return and murder to save themselves. At the memorial, a shocking truth emerges: Ajay wasn’t Vinod’s son, but the son of the notorious mafia boss Hari, responsible for the massacre of 57 Mumbai police officers. This revelation sets the stage for Aditya’s confrontation with a formidable adversary.
In London, Hari, enraged by Ajay’s death, infiltrates India through the Bangladesh border. Fearing Aditya’s fate, Vinod warns Aditya’s daughter Valli. Hari retaliates by stabbing Vinod and orchestrating a deadly car accident targeting Aditya and Valli. Although Aditya survives, Valli receives a fatal diagnosis, leaving only two hours to live. In grief and rage, Aditya embarks on a violent quest to find the truth behind Valli’s death, leaving a trail of fallen gangsters in his wake.
