Story:

The story of Barbie is a fantasy comedy involving Barbie, an optimistic character who lives an apparently perfect life in Barbie Land, a fantasy world in which every day consists of fun, positivity, and unlimited possibilities. Nevertheless, when she starts experiencing unusual thoughts and doubts, Barbie unexpectedly finds herself exploring the real world searching for some answers. Alongside her partner Ken, she soon learns more about the complicated realities beyond her previous understanding.

As she becomes aware of human feelings, social norms, and difficulties of real-world life, Barbie starts questioning what it really means to be happy, independent, and true to oneself. At the same time, Ken takes new beliefs and ideas, causing some chaos in Barbie Land, and making them face their fears and doubts.

Being a funny adventure movie that touches on such topics as feminism, personal identity, and self-empowerment, Barbie features whimsical humor, strong emotions, and bright visual images. The film was directed by Greta Gerwig.
