Accused

Story:

Anubhuti Kashyap is the director of the 2026 Indian Hindi-language psychological thriller Accused, which is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Adar Poonawalla under Dharmatic Entertainment. Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta play the main parts in the movie. It debuted on Netflix on February 27, 2026.

Plot

Renowned gynecological surgeon Dr. Geetika Sen, who leads the department at Chapelstone General Hospital in London, is praised for her accomplishments but chastised for her severe and harsh manner. Before moving to Chester for Geetika’s promotion, she and her partner, Dr. Meera Mishra, throw a farewell party and declare their intention to adopt a kid. Meera discovers at the party that Sophie, the caterer, is Geetika’s ex-partner, and her mother, who is oblivious of her daughter’s marriage, urges her to meet Rohit.

Soon later, Simran, the head of HR, tells Geetika that she has been the subject of an anonymous sexual misconduct accusation. Despite being guaranteed confidentiality, the accusation intensifies when more complaints appear online, harming her reputation and endangering the adoption procedure. Jaideep Bhargav, an outside investigator, is assigned to look into the matter. Suspicion is raised by Geetika’s prior interactions with Sophie and previous intern Natasha as scrutiny grows. Meera, however, starts to doubt Geetika’s sincerity after learning that she had secret encounters with Sophie.

Geetika’s personal and professional lives are becoming more tense. She becomes even more paranoid after a break-in at their house, and Meera employs a private investigator because she questions her devotion. Dr. Carol Simmons makes more accusations, accusing Geetika of wrongdoing. Geetika refutes the accusations, claiming that Carol is taking revenge for a previous professional disagreement. Subsequent evidence shows that the break-in was linked to hospital patient David Brown and that the anonymous accusations came from a single source.

In the end, the investigation reveals that Dr. Logan, a coworker and potential dean, orchestrated the false accusations out of professional jealously. Despite being offered the deanship and having the allegations against her erased, Geetika declines, admitting her own flaws.

Geetika apologizes to Meera and tries to make amends after the incident. Despite their initial distance, Meera shows that she is willing to mend their relationship, and the two depart together, implying a fresh start.
