Veerasamar is an Indian artist who has made his mark both as an art director and actor in Tamil language films. He initially embarked on his career as an art director by working as an apprentice under renowned art director Sabu Cyril in the film “Boys” directed by S. Shankar in 2003. His talent and dedication as an art director led him to contribute to the success of notable films like “Kaadhal” (2004), “Veyil” (2006), and “Poo” (2008).
Veerasamar transitioned into the realm of acting, where he made his debut with the film “Veerasekaran” in 2010, which had a relatively low-profile release. This movie gained recognition for introducing actress Amala Paul, who later became famous for her role in “Mynaa” (2010) directed by Prabhu Solomon. Despite his foray into acting, Veerasamar continued to showcase his art directorial skills, particularly through the design of songs in various films.
While he ventured into acting with “Veerasekaran,” Veerasamar later shifted his focus towards supporting roles. He maintained a parallel career as an art director, contributing his creative expertise to films such as “Komban” (2015), “Marudhu” (2016), “Kadaikutty Singam” (2018), “Jackpot” (2019), “Namma Veetu Pillai” (2019), “Thanni Vandi” (2021), “Akka Kuruvi” (2022), “DSP” (2022), “Yaathum Ooraey Yaavarum Kelir” (2023), and an upcoming web series titled “Journey” and the film “Kappal Yeriya Tamilan.” His diverse talents have allowed him to make significant contributions to both the art and performance aspects of the Tamil film industry.
