Indian filmmaker Udayasankar is well-known for his Telugu and Tamil filmmaking. With Vineetha and Vijayakanth in Pathavi Pramanam, he made his directorial debut. He was the director of Kalisundam Raa (2000), the winner of the National Film Award for Telugu’s Best Feature Film.
With Abbas and Simran in the lead roles, Poochudava marked Udayasankar’s directorial debut. Prior to the release of Narasimha Naidu in 2001, his next Telugu film, Kalisundam Raa, starring Venkatesh and Simran, was regarded as the biggest hit in Telugu cinema history.
Although the lead duo and director worked with Prematho Raa once more, their previous endeavor’s success was not repeated. Thavasi, which Udayasankar directed for the second time with Vijayakanth, was well-received by critics and did well at the box office. In Telugu, he directed Baladur starring Ravi Teja and Raraju starring Tottempudi Gopichand, both of which were box office failures.He directed Bhimavaram Bullodu in Telugu after a protracted hiatus.
