Tovino Thomas

Biography:

Indian actor and producer Tovino Thomas was born on January 21, 1989, and he primarily works in Malayalam cinema. In 2012, he made his screen debut in the movie Prabhuvinte Makkal. The films ABCD (2013), 7th Day (2014), and Ennu Ninte Moideen (2015) featured him in breakthrough roles. In the superhero movie Minnal Murali (2021) on Netflix, he played the lead role.

The movie Kilometers and Kilometers was co-produced by Tovino. He established Tovino Thomas Productions, his own production company, on January 21, 2021. In Kala, the first project from his own production company, he also portrayed the antagonist.

For his role in Ennu Ninte Moideen (2015), he was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. For his role in Mayanadhi (2017), he was also awarded the Kerala Film Critics Association Award and the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. Tovino is considered one of Kerala’s most attractive men[5] because of his ever-changing appearance and sense of style; the Kochi Times voted him #1 in 2018.[6] Tovino received the 2022 SIIMA Award for Best Actor for his roles in Kala and Minnal Murali.

Tovino Thomas, the youngest child of Adv. Ellikkal Thomas and Sheela Thomas, was born at Irinjalakuda, Thrissur. Tingston Thomas and Dhanya Thomas are his siblings. He attended Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Irinjalakuda for his primary education and St Mary’s Higher Secondary School in Irinjalakuda for his secondary (plus two) education.

He then graduated from Tamil Nadu College of Engineering in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, with a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering. In addition to leading the school, he played handball for Don Bosco High School. He afterwards held a software engineering position with Cognizant Technologies. He participated in modeling, fitness, and sports.

At St. Thomas Cathedral in Irinjalakuda on October 25, 2014, Tovino tied the knot with Lidiya, his longtime girlfriend. They had gotten married nine years later, having first met in school. Born in 2016 and 2020, respectively, the couple has a daughter and a boy.

For the 2018 Kerala floods, Tovino volunteered to oversee rescue and recovery efforts. The United Arab Emirates government granted Tovino a golden visa in 2021.
