American actor Thomas Jane was born Thomas Elliott III on February 22, 1969. The Telugu-language romantic comedy Padamati Sandhya Ragam (1987) marked the beginning of Jane’s cinematic career. She was born and reared in Maryland. Nemesis (1992), Face/Off, Boogie Nights (both 1997), The Thin Red Line (1998), and Magnolia (1999) were some of his other early motion pictures. Jane was regarded as “a genuine new action star” for his performance in the 1999 science fiction horror movie Deep Blue Sea. After winning praise from critics for his portrayal of baseball player Mickey Mantle in 61* (2001), he went on to play prominent parts, starting with André Stander in the South African biographical movie Stander (2003), for which he received even more praise.
He did the majority of his stunts in the title role in the 2004 vigilante action movie The Punisher. He later starred in the commercially successful cosmic horror movie The Mist (2007) and the comic slasher movie The Tripper (2006). His career began to focus more on direct-to-video productions in the late 2000s. Dark Country (2009), a criminal thriller in which he costarred, marked his directorial debut. He starred in the critically acclaimed films Bosco (2024) and 1922 (2017). Jane received three Golden Globe nominations for his performance in the television series Hung. Among his voice acting credits are the video games Gun and The Punisher (both released in 2005).
