Actress Susan Alexandra “Sigourney” Weaver in October 8, 1949. She has received multiple honors, including two Golden Globes, a Grammy Award, a British Academy Film Award, and nominations for three Academy Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards, and a Tony Award
Weaver was born in New York City and is the daughter of English actress Elizabeth Inglis and American television executive Pat Weaver. Before getting her breakout role as Ellen Ripley in the science fiction horror movie Alien (1979), she made her feature debut in a small role in the romantic comedy Annie Hall (1977). She returned for two more films in the franchise, including the 1986 sequel Aliens, for which she received a historic Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. One of the most important female leads in movie history is Ripley. Her other franchise appearances include twin characters in the Avatar film series (2009–present), which is one of the highest-grossing movie series ever, and Dana Barrett in the Ghostbusters films (1984–2021).
