American actor and model Sidhartha Vijay Mallya was born on May 7, 1987. He registered with the Screen Actors Guild under the stage name Sid Mallya, claiming that he chose the name to try to avoid being typecast in stereotypical roles. He starred in the sex comedy film Brahman Naman. He has also hosted an online video show, served as a guest judge and host on the Kingfisher Calendar Girl selection show, and modeled.
Mallya is the grandson of Vittal Mallya, the former chairman of UB Group, an Indian conglomerate primarily involved in the alcoholic beverage industry, and the son of fledgling former businessman Vijay Mallya.
In 2010, he became one of the directors of the football team Mohun Bagan after his father resigned as director. He also served as a marketing manager for Guinness, a product of Diageo, a major drinks company closely associated with his father’s business, and as director of the IPL cricket team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), which was owned by his father at the time.
