Shraddha Das

Biography:

Shraddha Das is an Indian actress and model who largely works in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, and Kannada films. She was born on March 4, 1987. She made her acting debut in the 2008 Telugu film Siddu from Srikakulam, and over the course of her career, she has worked in six different film industries.

Shraddha Das was born on March 4, 1987, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to Bengali parents. Her mother, Sapna Das, is a doctor and a Buddhist, while her father, Sunil Das, is a businessman from Purulia. She was raised in Mumbai, where she also completed her education. Shraddha earned a Bachelor of Mass Media in journalism from Ruia College and the University of Mumbai’s SIES College of Commerce and Economics.

She worked in theatres while pursuing her degree and participated in workshops led by National School of Drama performers including Piyush Mishra, Chittaranjan Giri, and Salim Shah. Prior to attending the Glad rags Academy, she had appeared in print commercials for McDowell’s, Aristocrat, and more than 400 catalogues.

The 2008 Telugu film Siddu from Srikakulam served as Shraddha’s first theatrical release. As soon as she finished Target, she signed four Telugu films in six months: 18, 20 Love Story, Diary, Adhineta, and Sukumar’s Arya 2, which was her first prominent role.

Shraddha made her Bollywood debut in Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan’s Lahore, the first film produced by Sai Om Films. Shraddha’s first acting role was in Lahore, which she filmed during her final year of college but wasn’t released until after several other of her films. Shraddha won praise from critics for her portrayal of a Pakistani psychiatrist in the movie. The film, which focuses on relations between India and Pakistan, was released in March 2010 and won prizes at both the 57th National Film Awards and the 42nd WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

She played the lead in A. Karunakaran’s Darling, Dil Raju’s Maro Charitra, a remake of the 1978 film of the same name, and P. Vasu’s Nagavalli, her other three films of the year. Shraddha earned the moniker “sequel queen” as a result of her roles in the Arya (Arya 2), Mantra (Diary), and Chandramukhi (Nagavalli) sequels. Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, her second Hindi film, came out in 2011. She made one film appearance in each of the following two years, Hosa Prema Purana and Dracula 2012, which marked her debuts in Kannada and Malayalam, respectively.

With The Royal Bengal Tiger (2014), Shraddha makes her Bengali debut after a year. Later that year, Shraddha had two Hindi releases: the erotic thriller Zid and the much-advertised Vivek Agnihotri erotic thriller Lucky Kabootar. Both films debuted to mixed reviews, but Zid helped Shraddha gain more Bollywood offers once it was released. She gained notoriety before Zid’s release when she claimed that her co-star Mannara had hurt her while they were filming and hit her while she was bound and gagged for a scene.

Rey, Bandipotu, and Superstar Kidnap are the three Telugu films that Shraddha has finished. She portrays an American pop singer in the movie Rey, and she has said that her part “is almost on par with that of the hero” and that “there’s a certain amount of eccentricity in my character.” She will play a “powerful goon” in Superstar Kidnap, and she will perform an item number in Bandipotu. She also finished filming Chai Shai Biscuit, a Bollywood movie she had committed to before Zid came out.

She is currently filming for the multilingual horror films Ouija (Telugu and Kannada) and Haunting of Bombay Mills (Telugu and Hindi) as of the beginning of 2015.Additionally, she was chosen to appear in Great Grand Masti.In the following years, she contributed to three critically and commercially successful Telugu (Guntur Talkies and Garuda Vega), Hindi (Babumoshai Bandookbaaz starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui), and Bengali (Badsha the Don) films. She most recently played an interpole officer in the blockbuster kannada film Kotigobba 3 with Kiccha Sudeep.
