Saran Shakthi, born on May 5, 1997, is an Indian actor primarily active in Tamil cinema. He initiated his career as a child artist in the film industry, making his debut in that capacity with “Kadal” (2013). Saran gained significant recognition as a contestant on the television reality show Survivor Tamil 1, where he secured the runner-up position.
Saran’s early appearances include his role in K. Balachander’s television serial “Amudha Oru Aacharyakuri,” which aired on Kalaignar TV from 2012 to 2013. He made his debut as a child artist in the film “Kadal” (2013), directed by Mani Ratnam. His talent was showcased in several other films as a child artist, including “Jilla” (2014), “Rummy” (2014), “Sigaram Thodu” (2014), and “Vai Raja Vai” (2015).
The turning point in Saran’s career came with his portrayal of Kanna in “Vada Chennai” (2018), which brought him recognition and acclaim. He stepped into a lead role in “Sagaa” (2019), although the film received mixed reviews. Notably, he starred alongside Nayanthara in the crime thriller “Netrikann” (2021). Saran took on a negative role in “Etharkkum Thunindhavan” (2022) and also played a significant part in “K.G.F: Chapter 2,” marking his debut in Kannada cinema.
