After finishing high school, he enrolled in a one-year certificate programme in filmmaking at Singapore’s LASALLE College of the Arts. Since he was 15 years old, he has worked as a cinematographer’s assistant in Hindi films. In his early years, he worked as an assistant to renowned cinematographers like Ravi Varman and Neha Parti Matiyani[citation needed], before making his Malayalam film debut with Two Countries.Anand Shankar, who was then Siddharth Anand’s assistant, and I met while Anjaana Anjaani (2010) was being filmed in the US. Because of how well we got along, we have kept in touch over the years. He has seen commercials I’ve directed, such as Interior Café Night, which won an award. NOTA’s time in the DOP made his Tamil debut with the reporter, who then offered him the role in the movie.
