An Indian film editor named Sanjay Sankla is well-known for his work on the films Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (2006), and Race Of Hearts (2008).
Sankla began working with David Dhawan as an assistant editor in the late 1990s. In 1989, he made his feature film debut as an assistant editor with David Dhawan’s action picture Gola Barood, starring Shatrughan Sinha and Chunky Pandey.
As an assistant editor in the editorial department, he worked on the films Swarg (1990), Jurm (1990), Aashiqui (1990), Baaghi: A Rebel For Love (1990), and Aag Ka Gola (1990). Sankla’s first film as an editor was the 1991 Indian Hindi film “Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin.”
His editing was featured in the 1993 films Gumrah, Sir, and Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke. He held positions in Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan (1999), Jaanwar (1999), Angaaray (1998), and Criminal (1995).
His post-production work on Lawrence D’Souza’s 1999 film “Aarzoo,” which starred Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit, Saif Ali Khan, Paresh Rawal, Amrish Puri, and Reema Lagoo, was conducted by him. The films “Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Ghum” (2001), “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” (1998), “Kal Ho Naa Ho” (2003), and “Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna” (2006) see him collaborating with Karan Johar.
His performance in Nikkhil Advani’s 2003 Indian love movie Kal Ho Naa Ho earned him a Screen Weekly Award in 2004 and qualified him for the Zee Cine Awards. Sankla made an appearance in the promotional video for “Kaal,” a Bollywood natural horror film directed by Soham Shah and co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar, in 2005.
He has contributed to almost 50 films, including Kyun! (2003), Talaash: The Hunt Begins (2003), and Kaun Hai Jo Sapno Mein Aaya (2004). “Lucky: No Time For Love” (2005), “A Sublime Love Story: Barsaat” (2005), “Deadline: Sirf 24 Ghante” (2006), “Nanhe Jaisalmer: A Dream Come True” (2007).
Hastey Hastey Follow Your Heart” (2008), “Khushboo: The Fragrance Of Love” (2008), “Daddy Cool: Join The Fun” (2009), and “Ronde Sare Vyah Picho” (2013) are some of the films that have been released since 2004. Sankla contributed as a writer and editor to the Manoj Amarnani-directed movie “Life Is Beautiful” in 2014.
He produced the film “Premasathi Coming Soon” (2014) in the same year. His editing may be seen in the films “Kisan Baburao Hazare” (2016), “All Is Well” (2015), “Anna” (2016), and Great Grand Masti (2016), which was directed by the terrifying dramatist Indra Kumar.
