Biography:

She was born in 1988, and her father Ajith works for IOB while her mother, Maya, is a beautician. She has an older brother named Rahul. She attended Vidyodaya Girls Higher Secondary School in Chennai until completing the 9th grade.

During her studies, she got her break in acting when she starred in the Tamil film “Kaadhal,” a role that had been offered to several established actresses, including Ileana D’Cruz and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. However, Saranya Nag, recommended by cinematographer Vijay Milton, was initially considered but ultimately replaced by Sandhya. This marked the beginning of her acting career.

Following the success of “Kaadhal” in 2004, she ventured into the Malayalam film industry with “Alice in Wonderland,” where she played the sister of actor Jayaram. She continued her Tamil film career with “Dishyum” alongside Jeeva and a small role in “Vallavan.” She also appeared in “Koodal Nagar” with Bharath. After the success of “Cycle,” she shifted her focus to Malayalam cinema. Additionally, she made her debut as a playback singer in the film “Manjal Veiyil.” In 2010, she acted opposite Vishnuvardhan in the Kannada film “Aptharakshaka,” directed by P. Vasu.

She is set to appear in upcoming films directed by Tarun Gopi, including “Soodhaatam,” “Second Innings,” and “Long Sight.” Furthermore, she has served as a judge on various reality shows such as “Comedy Stars” and “Little Stars” on Asianet.

Sandhya tied the knot with Arjun, an IT professional based in Chennai, on December 6, 2015, in a ceremony held at Guruvayur Temple. The couple welcomed their daughter on September 27, 2016.
