Biography:

Rocket Raghava, a gifted comedian, honed his comic talents through mimicry from a young age. His breakthrough came via the uproarious comedy show ‘Jabardast,’ where he gained fame as Rocket Raghava. This unexpected success provided him with invaluable training in acting, including rapid dialogue delivery, handling lights and cameras, and more. Grateful for the public’s embrace, he cherishes the “Rocket Raghava” moniker.

With a gentle disposition, Raghava’s respect for elders endures despite his celebrity status. His journey from Vizag to Hyderabad, prompted by family aspirations, led him to a course in social studies and B.Ed.

He gained acting experience through an AIR show, scriptwriting for Doordarshan, and eventually, a reality show on a private channel. His family’s teaching background pushed him towards education, but his mimicry talents flourished, mimicking Telugu cinema stars.

Throat issues redirected Raghava from mimicry to Doordarshan, where he showcased artistic flair through cartoon sketches and hosting. Six months of determination earned him respect in TV shows, leading to his anchor role. His stint on ‘Jabardast’ transpired without an audition, catapulting the show’s popularity.

Shy and poised, Raghava understood the significance of body language in comedic performances. Inspired by greats like Johnny Lever and Vadivelu, he ventured into dubbing.

While Raghava thrived in films like ‘Banthi Poola Janaki’ and ‘Charuseela,’ he aspired to explore slapstick comedy, a challenging genre. Humor’s subjectivity drives his quest for versatile roles to showcase his comedic finesse. Despite fame, Raghava remains a down-to-earth family man, a true testament to his character.
