Reema Lagoo, originally named Nayan Bhadbhade, was a celebrated figure in Indian theatre and screen, recognized for her notable contributions to both Hindi and Marathi cinema. Born on June 21, 1958, in Bombay, India (now Mumbai), she embarked on her illustrious acting journey in Marathi theatre before transitioning to the realm of mainstream cinema.

Lagoo rose to prominence and captured the hearts of audiences across India with her portrayal of maternal characters during the 1990s and early 2000s. Her endearing performances earned her the status of a household name, particularly for her roles in iconic television sitcoms such as “Shriman Shrimati,” where she portrayed the character Kokila Kulkarni, and “Tu Tu Main Main,” where she starred as Devaki Verma alongside Supriya Pilgaonkar.
