Story:

Remo is a Tamil romantic comedy film written and directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan in his directorial debut, produced by R. D. Raja under 24AM Studios. The film features Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles, supported by Sathish, Rajendran, Aadukalam Naren, Anson Paul, K. S. Ravikumar, Saranya Ponvannan, and Sri Divya. P. C. Sreeram handled the cinematography, and Ruben managed the editing. The music, including the soundtrack album and background score, was composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

The story revolves around an aspiring actor who disguises himself as a female nurse to hone his acting skills and win the heart of his lady love, a doctor by profession.

Initially planned for release on March 14, 2015, the film was delayed briefly due to script finalization and casting adjustments. It eventually premiered worldwide on October 7, 2016, coinciding with the Dusshera festival.

“Remo” received mostly positive reviews from critics and audiences for its comedy. However, it faced criticism for its portrayal of stalking and the characterization of Keerthy Suresh’s role. Despite this, it emerged as a commercial success, grossing over ₹70 crore against a budget of ₹35 crore. The film was remade in Odia as “Sister Sridevi” in 2017.
