Pushkar–Gayatri

Biography:

The husband and wife filmmaking team Pushkar and Gayatri are from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Their distinctive aesthetic, technical mastery, and tightly woven plots are what make their works renowned.

The place where Gayatri and Pushkar currently reside, Chennai, is where they were born and raised. At Loyola College in Chennai, where they initially met, they completed their undergraduate studies in visual communication.

They collaborated with renowned advertising directors like Manav Menon and P.C. Sriram both during and after graduation. They made the decision to continue their education and submitted applications to American film schools. Pushkar earned his master’s degree in film marking from the University of New Orleans, while Gayatri earned her master’s degree in fine art from the University of Chicago.

Together, the two began their careers in ad-filmmaking. Neither of them has a background in movies. They developed a short film version of the script for their debut movie, Oram Po, in order to approach producers. They have been working as full-time Tamil feature directors ever since. They made their Bollywood debut with the release of the Hindi version of Vikram Vedha.
